What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 15

In today’s episode, we will first learn about our “Saint of the Week”, Joseph Marchand, a French Missionary and his efforts to bring the faith to Vietnam.  We will hear a homily for the First Sunday of Advent about the Gospel that stresses the importance of being watchful and alert.  In the segment “Catholics in the News”, we will learn about a Bishop’s Bishop, Cardinal Francis George who recently retired as Archbishop of Chicago. In the segment, “I Don’t Get It”, I will attempt to figure out why a 90-year-old chef faces possible jail and fines for feeding the homeless.  We also have a new segment to introduce, entitled, “Truth in the Media”.  In this segment, we will look at various media such as film, television, books, etc. that actually tell the Truth. Finally, during our Truth Topic of the Week, we will hear about the leader of the U.S. bishops’ religious freedom committee who states what the government denies – that religious freedom is indeed under attack.  All of this plus music from the AJ Christian Band who sings to God, “Lord, We Love You.” This and more on Episode 15 of What is Truth?

What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 14

In today’s episode, we will first learn about our “Saint of the Week” Pope Clement I, also known as St. Clement of Rome.  We will hear a homily for the Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of the liturgical year about Jesus’s kingship who will be our judge as to who will join him in kingdom of heaven.  In the segment “Catholics in the News”, we will learn about Sister Karen, who is not only a nun but also a medical professional at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the nation.  In the segment, “I Don’t Get It”, I will attempt to figure out the treatment of two brothers in a public school playground in New York.  Finally, during our Truth Topic of the Week, we will discuss the final report of the Synod on the Family that clearly states what marriage is and is not. What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 12

In today’s episode, we will first learn about our “Saint of the Week”  Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, who despite his family’s wealth, lived a life committed to Christ and to serving the poor.  We will hear a homily for the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome about Jesus in front of the temple telling the Pharisees that if the temple is destroyed, he will rebuild it in three days.  In the segment “Catholics in the News”, we will learn about Fr. Luigi Ciotti who is protected by police round the clock as he is considered Italy’s most endangered person.  During our Truth Topic of the Week, we will examine capital punishment, which is legal in 32 states and compare this to a recent article highlighting Pope Francis’ view of the penal system. What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 11

In today’s episode, we will first learn about our “Saint of the Week”  St. Andre Bessette who was sickly and weak, almost from birth.  Yet his great faith transcended his physical limitations.   We will hear a homily for All Souls Day about Jesus wanting all of us to be given the gift of eternal life. 

 

In the segment “Catholics in the News”, we will look at Michelle Knight, who spent over 10 years with two other women in captivity after being kidnapped when she was 21 years old. 

 

During our Truth Topic of the Week, we will examine an article entitled “7 Ways to Boost Your Happiness.”  We will look at the world’s definition of happiness versus what true happiness is. 

 

In our new segment “I Don’t Get It.”  I will deal with my confusion about why 2 tech companies offer to freeze the eggs of female employees.  All of this plus music from Steven Parent who tell us God is “Everything to Me”.  This and more on episode 11 of What is Truth?
