What is Truth Catholic Podcast

In the Gospel of Matthew for the 13th Sunday of Ordinary Time, we hear the challenge of Jesus reminding us that we must be willing to give up our lives to be His disciples.  The call to following Christ is a path of many crosses and "deaths".  We must die to our sinfulness, selfishness, self-centeredness etc.  Lord, help us to die these deaths so that we may be, in our own human sinful way, worthy of You.  Lord, please give us the grace to do this.

Today's readings are for the 12th Sunday of Ordinary Time.  We hear Jesus tell His apostles not to fear anyone.  Our Lord does not want us to live our lives in fear; He knows that a fear-based life creates a barrier for us to follow Him.  We are called to live in faith - faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who gave everything He had for us; may we trust Him and put our lives in His hands.  After all, God is in control.

In this edition of the What is Truth Catholic Podcast for the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, we celebrate the most precious gift of God - the Eucharist.  As Catholics, we know that Jesus gave us His actual Body and Blood, soul and divinity in the Eucharist.  This is the source and summit of our faith.  May we thank Jesus for this gift and when we receive His most precious Body and Blood, may we receive God into our hearts and minds to become more and more configured to Christ.

In today's episode of the What is Truth Catholic Podcast, we reflect on the readings for the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.   Jesus tells us in the Gospel of St. John that He has come into the world not to condemn the world but to save it.  May we live in the Holy Trinity, giving thanks to God the Father, the Creator, God the Son, the Mediator, and God the Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier.  Amen.
