What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 17

In today’s episode, we will first learn about our “Saint of the Week” St. Lucy, who was a martyr during the Roman persecution in the 4th century.  We will hear a homily for the Third Sunday of Advent about the Gospel of John telling us again about the work of John the Baptist and how the Lord will come.  In the segment “Catholics in the News”, we will learn about Barth Bracy and his fight in Connecticut to ensure health plans do not pay for abortions.  In the segment, “I Don’t Get It”, I will try to understand Seattle’s decision regarding internet access for the homeless.  In “Truth in the Media”, we will learn about a new documentary from the Courage apostolate, an organization that supports people with same sex attraction to live chaste lives.  Finally, during our Truth Topic of the Week, we will hear Pope Francis’ exhortation to feed the world and safeguard the planet.  All of this plus music from the A Breath of Fresh Air who exhorts us to be,” Just Like Peter.”  This and more on Episode 17 of What is Truth.

What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 16

In today’s episode, we will first learn about our “Saint of the Week” St. Rose Philippine Duchesnewho with several of her sisters established the first free school west of the Mississippi.  We will hear a homily for the Second Sunday of Advent about the Gospel of Mark showing us the work of John the Baptist and his preparing the way for our Lord.  In the segment “Catholics in the News”, we will contemplate Pope Francis and his remarks made to the European Union leaders. In the segment, “I Don’t Get It”, I will attempt to understand why the PTA at a public school in the Boston area apparently worked behind closed doors to prevent elementary school students from being exposed to the evil dangers of a...Christmas tree!!!  In “Truth in the Media”, we will learn about a Randy Hain book about how we can be a witness to the Lord.  Finally, during our Truth Topic of the Week, we will hear about the U.S. bishops who are imploring Congress to enact stronger medical conscience protections against state abortion laws by passing the Abortion Non-Discrimination Act. What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 15

In today’s episode, we will first learn about our “Saint of the Week”, Joseph Marchand, a French Missionary and his efforts to bring the faith to Vietnam.  We will hear a homily for the First Sunday of Advent about the Gospel that stresses the importance of being watchful and alert.  In the segment “Catholics in the News”, we will learn about a Bishop’s Bishop, Cardinal Francis George who recently retired as Archbishop of Chicago. In the segment, “I Don’t Get It”, I will attempt to figure out why a 90-year-old chef faces possible jail and fines for feeding the homeless.  We also have a new segment to introduce, entitled, “Truth in the Media”.  In this segment, we will look at various media such as film, television, books, etc. that actually tell the Truth. Finally, during our Truth Topic of the Week, we will hear about the leader of the U.S. bishops’ religious freedom committee who states what the government denies – that religious freedom is indeed under attack.  All of this plus music from the AJ Christian Band who sings to God, “Lord, We Love You.” This and more on Episode 15 of What is Truth?
