In this July 4th Episode, I will dispense with the usual format.  This episode will be shorter and will focus on our country, recent events and what is means for our country.  Unlike all the other episodes of this podcast, part of the content is my opinion.  I believe everything said in this podcast is in complete communion with the Catholic Church, although my bias and views will be evident in this podcast.  So lets get started on this Independence Day edition of What is Truth.

What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 4

In Episode 4 of What is Truth Catholic Podcast, we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.  We hear a homily based on the readings for this Sunday that challenges us to be willing to embrace our crosses so we, like Jesus, might be raised up.  We introduce a new segment, "Catholics in the News."  This week we hear about Fr. Dick Lawrence, pastor of a parish in downtown Baltimore and his efforts along with his parishioners, to serve the hungry and homeless in downtown Baltimore.

In the Truth Topic of the Week, we will learn of California's efforts to force abortion coverage into health plans in that state, even though California state workers do not have such a plan.

What is Truth Catholic Podcast - Episode 3

In Episode 3, we will listen to a homily from the 23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time.  In our readings for Mass, we are challenged to remember we are responsible for one another.  If one of us sins, we are called to lovingly speak to that person to provide support.  If that does not work, we are asked to have others join us in the effort to assist the person to repent.

In the Truth Topic of the Week, we will learn about Fr. Neuhaus who is a pastor of a church in Jersualem.  We will discuss the truth of what will be needed for a real peace in Gaza.  

And of course, this weekend is the first weekend of the 2014 NFL season.  Go New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals!!!
